Black horizontal-rod railing installed around a new ipe hardwood deck set on a paver patio at the rear of an olive-sided home.
Analysis
The deck is the centrepiece of the backyard, so a slim horizontal guard was chosen to keep the hardwood field visible and the yard open to view.

Posts through-bolted to the framing at consistent spacing, rails levelled and aligned corner to corner, penetrations sealed against water entry.
